How Corey Feldman Vs. the World achieved the impossible

Thank you , , , , and many others for tuning into my first live video with ! I found Marcie so smart and thoughtful. I related so much when she said making documentaries allows her to be her best, most empathetic self (I had never thought of it that way, but I think it’s true for me too). I loved hearing the inspiring story of how this incredible, one-of-a-kind film came to exist because of nothing more than the love, devotion and determination of a very small number of people. That’s what it all comes down to in the end, I think. ❤️

I found Marcie to be so smart and thoughtful. I also really related to the idea that making documentaries allows her to be her best, most empathetic self.

Follow the film’s indie distribution journey at www.coreyfilm.com and on Instagram. It will be playing some Alamo Drafthouse theaters around the country in early March, and in NYC on March 13 with a Q&A — I’ll be there!!! I can’t wait to watch this one with an audience.

Join me for my next live video chat next Monday 1pm ET when I will be chatting with , fresh off his Independent Spirit Award win! I recently recommended Matt’s first feature Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell in this newsletter about music docs I love.

I want to talk to him about:
• How he creates such compelling and creative profiles of artists
• Why his process always begins with a love letter
• Why making a documentary about his childhood hero Pee-Wee Herman nearly broke him.
• I also want to talk to him about our shared roots in independent, community media and video art.

If you haven’t seen, at a minimum, Pee-Wee as Himself and Wild Combination, now’s a good time to refresh!

PS: Not sure why my camera and sound were so crummy, but I’ll make sure it’s better next time. At least Marcie looks and sounds great; she’s the star anyway.
